Southeastern Illinois College is delighted to announce the signing of Cadence Johnson to the SIC Falcon Archers, the college's distinguished archery team. Johnson, a student at Massac County High School, brings a wealth of experience and passion for archery to the team.

"Archery has been a passion of mine for 6 years," said Cadence Johnson. "I started out in a metal bard shooting a Genesis bow. I have worked my way up over the years to where I have won local tournaments. I can't wait to be a part of the SIC Archery Team. I look forward to traveling to shoot, meet new people, and all the memories I will gain."

Head Archery Coach Ricky Sauls expressed his excitement about Johnson joining the team: "I have had the privilege of working with Cadence for the last 1 1/2 years and am impressed with the way she has progressed and how much she truly enjoys shooting her bow. Cadence will be a big asset to the team, and I look forward to coaching her for the next 2 years."

During her time at Massac County High School, Cadence Johnson has been actively involved in various extracurricular activities, including the Art Club, Art Guild, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Gamer's Guild, WYSE Team, and has consistently made the Honor Roll. She has also competed in 4-H archery, showcasing her dedication to the sport.

Cadence plans to transfer to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) after SIC to pursue her goal of becoming a Pharmacist, demonstrating her commitment to both her academic and professional aspirations.

The addition of Cadence Johnson to the SIC Falcon Archers further strengthens the team's roster and commitment to excellence. The Falcon Archers, which began as a small pilot program in 2011, have since won national awards against Division I universities, expanded to include an indoor facility and indoor team, and regularly host high school tournaments. The Falcon Archers are proud members of USA Archery and ASA Archery.
